Prescription Discount Plan
Is this insurance?
No! This is not insurance; it is a discount prescription program that saves you money when you get a prescription filled at one of over 53,000 participating pharmacies nationwide, or when you use their mail order service. The discount takes place immediately when you pay for your prescription.
How much can I save?
The amount of savings varies, as do prices at a given pharmacy. You can expect to save up to 40% on your prescription drugs…with an average savings of 22% depending on the drug prescribed.
Will I always receive the lowest price?
Yes. You will receive the best price available to you at the pharmacy. On occasion, pharmacies will price a particular medication lower than the discount rate provided by the card. If that occurs, you will receive the lower price, providing you with the greatest savings possible.
What about when I’m traveling- can I still get discounts on prescriptions that may need to be filled when I’m away from home?
Yes, by following the same procedures as you do when you are home.
I already have insurance. How can the Prescription Discount Program benefit me?
Standard prescription benefit plans are usually only available through a group (such as your employer) and cover a percentage of your prescription needs. It cannot be used in conjunction with HMO’s, co-pay prescription cards or managed care programs. However, if you are using drugs that are not covered by these plans, you may be able to use your Prescription Discount Plan for your out-of-pocket expenses.
